Interventions for Pediatric Oral, Pharyngeal, and Esophageal Dysphagia
What exactly is this course about?
This course will focus on the theoretical principles behind improving oral and pharyngeal dysphagia, including motor learning principles and responsive feeding practices. Discussions will also take place on the speech-language pathologist’s role with esophageal dysphagia. Case studies will be provided and participants will walk away with strategies to implement immediately into practice.

1. Describe principles of motor learning as they relate to pediatric oral and pharyngeal dysphagia.
2. Select at least 3 appropriate strategies to improve safe and functional intake of solids and/or liquids.
3. Explain when a speech-language pathologist does and does not have a role with esophageal dysphagia.
